PM asks police to gain peoples’ confidence

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday asked the police to gain people’s confidence by ensuring the overall security of public life and property and ensuring their welfare.
"You'll always have to work devotedly for ensuring the welfare of the common people and ensure their security so that you can gain trust and confidence,” she said after inaugurating the newly-built 'Police Plaza', a newly-built commercial building of Bangladesh Police Welfare Trust, in the city’s Gulshan area.
She also asked the police to be mindful so that people do not suffer in any way and continue to render services. “You'll have to fulfil the aspirations of people."
Hasina went on saying, "It’s the duty of our government to look into your   (police) wellbeing and we'll do so," the Prime Minister said.
IGP AKM Shahidul Haque delivered the welcome address at the programme.
