PM attends her office at Energy Ministry

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who holds charge of power, energy and mineral resources ministry, attended office at the Energy Ministry on Thursday. She arrived at the office in the Secretariat around 10.30am. Her adviser Tawfiq-E-Elahi Chowdhury and State Minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid Bipu greeted the Prime Minister. This is the first time Hasina has attended office at the ministry during her second straight term – and she does this within 24 days of taking office. She had attended office at the ministry thrice in the last five years. The last time she was here was on August 8, 2011. Officials and staff of the building which houses several other ministries along with power had to use the back entrance as tough security measures has been in place there since morning. The cafeteria on the ground floor remains closed from 7am to 1pm. Metal detectors have been installed at the entry-points of the building. Sheikh Hasina has kept the portfolio of power, energy and mineral resources for herself this time, as during her previous tenure, according to bdnews24.com.
