PM condoles death of Hedayet H Chowdhury

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock at the death of eminent businessman Hedayet Hossain Chowdhury, father of the Inter Parliamentary Union president Saber Hossain Chowdhury. In a condolence message, the Prime Minister prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members. Meanwhile, a highly placed source at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that the PM is likely to visit the house of Hedayet H Chowdhury to pay her last respects to the eminent businessman and philanthropist. On March 11, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the residence of Rashida Hossain Chowhdury, wife of Hedayet H Chowdhury and mother of Saber Hossain Chowdhury and Sayeed Hossain Chowdhury, the chairman of the HRC Group. Then the Prime Minister conveyed her sympathy to the bereaved family of Rashida Hossain Chowdhury by paying a visit to the house of her son Saber Hossain Chowdhury, also an Awami League lawmaker, in the city’s Paribagh area. Rashida, who died on March 8 at the age of 76 at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore, was buried in Paribagh, according to a news agency.
