PM donates Tk 0.5m for treatment of Azam Khan

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina Thursday donated Tk 0.5 million (5.0 lakh) to noted pop singer and valiant freedom fighter Azam Khan for his better treatment, reports BSS.
"The PM gave the sum for improved treatment of Azam Khan from the PM's Relief and Welfare Fund," said PM's Deputy Press Secretary Md Nazrul Islam.
Azam Khan, popularly known as "Guru", has been suffering from oral cancer. The deputy press secretary and PM's Assignment Officer Monoj Kanti Boral handed over the cheque of the sum to singer on behalf of the PM.
