Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina flies to Agartala Wednesday to receive an honorary Doctorate of Literature (DLit) degree from Tripura University, reports UNB.
The visit would be the first by any prime minister of Bangladesh to Tripura, which had played an important role in Bangladesh's War of Liberation in 1971.
Hasina will depart for Tripura on a two-day official visit by a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Wednesday at 2:50 pm and reach Singerbhil Airport in Tripura at 3pm.

This is the first time Tripura University will confer the honorary DLit on a person after it was set up in 1987.
The prime minister will lead a 65-member delegation, including several ministers, academics, intellectuals, businessmen and media personalities.
Apart from attending the convocation Thursday (January 12), Hasina will join a civic reception and meet businessmen.
On the first day of her visit, Hasina will call on Indian Vice President Hamid Ansari and will attend a banquet to be hosted by the vice president.
Governor Dr DY Patil and Chief Minister Manik Sarkar will meet Hasina at the State Guest House of Tripura on the same day.
On the concluding day, Hasina will hold a meeting with businessmen in the morning to discuss ways to boost trade between Bangladesh and the northeastern states of India.
