Friday, 23 May 2014

A new horizon is going to open up in Dhaka and Tokyo bilateral relations as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina starts her four-day official visit to Japan on May 25.
"Through the visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Dhaka-Tokyo bilateral ties would reach to a new height," Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Shiro Sadoshima told diplomatic reporters recently.
Japan, the largest development partner of Bangladesh, has been significantly contributing to the socioeconomic development of Bangladesh through financial assistance in the sectors like poverty alleviation, physical infrastructure, power generation, human resources development and others.
"The visit is expected to further bolster Bangladesh-Japan relations in all areas of cooperation," diplomats here think.
Prime Minister's Office sources said the Premier is to leave Dhaka for Tokyo on Saturday night at the invitation of her Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe, according to BSS.
