PM for Bimstec to take result-oriented progs

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday stressed the need for undertaking focused, time-bound and result-oriented programmes by Bimstec to meet the hopes and aspirations of people in the region. “The activities of Bimstec should be time-bound and result-oriented ones to fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the people of the region,” she said. The Prime Minister said this when visiting Secretary General of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (Bimstec) Sumith Nakandala met her at her Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban office in the evening. Prime Minister’s Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhury briefed reporters after the meeting, according to a news agency.
