Wednesday, 19 November 2014

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has emphasised on establishing connectivity between Bangladesh and Bhutan to further boost bilateral trade and business. 'We must establish connectivity to further increase bilateral trade and business,' the PM said on Wednesday afternoon when Bhutanese Ambassador Pema Choden paid a courtesy call on her at her office in Dhaka. Sheikh Hasina once again said that Bhutan could use Bangladesh's sea and airports for the purpose of trade and business. She called upon the Bhutanese government to import vegetables from Bangladesh to meet their domestic demand. In this connection, she mentioned that Bhutan imports Bangladeshi readymade garments at a larger volume every year. PM's Principal Secretary Abdus Sobhan Sikdar and Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhuri were present at the meeting, according to a news agency.
