Sunday, 24 August 2014

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the industries ministry to mark down industrial areas in every district and conduct a survey to identify the area appropriate for industrial development. It would encourage the investors to set up businesses using local opportunities, she said adding industrial development is very crucial to make Bangladesh a developed country by 2041. The Prime Minister was addressing the officials of the industries ministry during her visit to the ministry in Motijheel on Sunday. She said though the government has attached importance on private sector industrial growth, but the government officials should keep it in mind that the government has a big role in this sector particularly for proper execution of the industrial policy and monitoring other aspects. She asked the officials to be careful for development of environment friendly industries, not necessarily hearing the hue and cry of the environmentalists always. The PM said industries should not be allowed everywhere, but a designated area should be developed with necessary infrastructure and facilities under a well-thought plan to stay away from destroying valuable land and environment, according to BSS.
