PM for policy on MPO, implementing RSTU project

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the education ministry to expedite the process of implementing the Rangamati Science and Technology University (RSTU) project for expansion of science and technological education in the district. Addressing the officials of the ministry at the Secretariat on Sunday, the Prime Minister also asked the officials to formulate a policy on enrollment of the school and colleges under Monthly Payment Order (MPO) for construction of school and colleges in every district in a planned manner. Sheikh Hasina said her government considers the educational expenditures as an investment, so the government, if necessary, would give all support for construction of schools and colleges. ‘However the expenditures should be incurred under a system for the development of schools and colleges where it's needed most,’ Hasina said. She laid importance on construction of residential schools in the inaccessible areas considering its complicated communication system to glow the light of education in those areas along with creating educational facilities for poor boys and girls of Char areas, according to a news agency.
