PM goes to Khulna today

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina will go to Khulna today (Sunday) on a daylong visit on the occasion of commissioning and induction of new ships in Bangladesh Navy (BN), reports BSS.
It will be her first visit to Khulna after the Awami League government took office for the second consecutive term with an overwhelming victory in the last general elections held on January 05, 2014.
The PM will first go to Mongla from Dhaka to join the commissioning function of three BN Ships-KJ Ali, Sandwip and Hatia --, PM's Press Wing sources said.
She will also attend the induction ceremony of two landing craft tanks-LCT-103 and LCT-105 -- there.
Later, Sheikh Hasina will visit Khulna Shipyard to inaugurate the keel-laying of two large patrol craft, and a container vessel, Nou Kalyan-1.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to return to the capital in the afternoon, the sources said.
Sheikh Hasina last visited Khulna on January 24, 2013.
Meanwhile, a foolproof security measure has been undertaken in Khulna ahead of the visit of the Prime Minister, BSS correspondent from Khulna reported.
