PM goes to Satkhira today

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina is going to Satkkhira today (Monday) to open 11 development projects and provide financial assistance to the affected family members of leaders and workers of Awami League and its associate bodies, killed and injured in the recent Jamaat-Shibir atrocities, reports BSS.
The Prime Minister will exchange views with the family members of leaders and workers of Awami League and its associate bodies, who were killed and injured in the recent atrocities of Jamaat-Shibir at Satkkhira Circuit House at 2.30 pm. She will also give financial assistance to them there.
Later, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 11 development projects including Satkkhira Medical College Hospital, Technical Training Centre for the orphans, and re-excavation of the Kapotakkhya River.
Before departing for Dhaka, Sheikh Hasina, also the Awami League chief, will address a public meeting at Satkkhira Government High School ground in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, enthusiasm and jubilation returned to the life of the local leaders and workers of Awami League and its associate bodies ahead of the visit of the Prime Minister to Satkkhira.
They completed all preparation to make successful Sheikh Hasina's first visit outside the capital since she was sworn in as the Prime Minister for second successive terms on January 12.
As many as 17 leaders and workers of AL and its associate bodies were killed and hundreds other were injured in the Jamaat-Shibir atrocities since February last.
