PM holds meeting with Myanmar President

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a bilateral meeting with Myanmar President Thein Sien at Presidential Palace at Naypyitaw on Monday. During the meeting, they discussed issues related to bilateral interests. Later, she met Myanmar Opposition Leader and Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Rule of Law and Tranquility Aung San Suu Kyi at her parliament office. Earlier, Suu Kyi, chairman of National League for Democracy, warmly received the Prime Minister at the Parliament Building by embracing her. Later, Sheikh Hasina introduced her entourage and family members to Suu Kyi. Sheikh Hasina is now in Myanmar capital of Nay Pyi Taw on a two-day official visit to attend the third BIMSTEC Summit. Earlier, the Prime Minister was accorded a red carpet reception when she arrived at Nay Pyi Taw International Airport. The summit of the seven-nation regional body of South Asia and South East Asia will be held at the Myanmar International Conference Centre in Myanmar capital of Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday, according to BSS.
