PM inaugurates longest Ctg flyover project

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated an infrastructure development project to build a 5.2-metre long flyover from Muradpur to Lalkhanbazar in Chittagong city, promising to extend it further to the airport in Patenga. She unveiled the plaque for the ‘Akhtaruzzaman Chowdhury Flyover’, the largest in the port city, at 1:45pm on Wednesday. It will have four lanes in 3.5-kilometre-long stretch from Muradpur to WASA junction. It will also have a 2-lane downward ramp from Sholashohor’s ‘Gate No 2’ to Bayezid area and another upward 2-lane ramp from Oxygen to GEC. Max-Rankin JV will construct the flyover at a cost of more than Tk 4.62-billion, under the supervision of the Chittagong Development Authority, according to bdnews24.com.
