PM joins Akheri Munajat

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined on Sunday the Akheri Munajat (concluding prayers) of Biswa Ijtema as the first phase of the world's largest Muslim congregation after the holy Hajj ended on the bank of the river Turag at the suburban Tongi. From her official residence Gonobhaban, the Prime Minister took part in the munajat. Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury, former minister Dr Dipu Moni, MP, President of Mohila Awami League Ashrafunnesa Mosharraf and family members of Sheikh Hasina joined the prayers. A special prayer was offered on the occasion seeking continued peace, progress and welfare of the country as well as the Muslim Ummah. Indian scholar Moulana Zubairul Hasan led the 20-minute prayer, according to a news agency.
