PM leaves Kunming for Beijing

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in China on a 6-day official visit, departed Kunming for Beijing on Sunday morning. The Prime Minister and her entourage departed Changshui International Airport of Kunming in China’s eastern Yunnan province, around 10:30am (local time) and are expected to reach Chinese capital Beijing’s international airport at about 2:00pm. On her arrival in Beijing, Hasina will be received by Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of China Liu Zhenmin. She will also walk through the static guard before going to Diaoyutai State Guest House in a ceremonial motorcade where she will be staying during her tour. The Prime Minister today will place wreaths at the monument of the People’s Heroes at Tiananmen Square. The following day, Sheikh Hasina will deliver her keynote speech at China Institute of International Studies. In the afternoon, she will hold official talks with Chinese premier Li Keqiang during which both the countries are expected to complete negotiations on the construction of a deep seaport at Sonadia in Cox’s Bazar district. The talks will be followed by a signing ceremony. In the evening, she will attend a banquet to be hosted by her Chinese counterpart, according to a news agency.
