PM mourns deaths in China quake

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the loss of lives and property in a powerful earthquake in China Sunday, reports BSS.
In a condolence message sent to Chinese Premier Li Keqiang Tuesday, Sheikh Hasina said, "I am deeply saddened to learn about the catastrophic 6.1 magnitude earthquake that hit the Ludian County in Yunnan province on August 3, causing deaths to 380 people and injuries to more than 2000 others so far, and destroying more than 12000 houses."
The PM also said she is shocked to know about the large number of fatalities and injuries caused by an explosion at an automobile parts factory in Kunshan city of the East China's Jiangsu province on August 2.
"On behalf of the people and the government of Bangladesh, and on my own behalf, I would like to convey our deepest condolences to the families who lost their beloved ones and profound sympathy to the families whose near and dear ones got injured," she added.
