PM mourns deaths in Mymensingh stampede

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday expressed deep shock at the deaths of a number of people in a stampede in Mymensingh. In a condolence message, the Prime Minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved families. At least 26 people, mostly women, were killed and several others injured in the stampede in Mymensingh town early this morning. The tragic incident occurred at about 4.45 am near a jorda (chewing tobacco) factory in the town as the people went there to collect Zakat clothes, according to BSS.
