PM mourns deaths in Turkish coalmine accident

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday expressed deep shock over the unfortunate deaths of a few hundred Turkish labourers in a coalmine accident in the Soma district in Turkey on Tuesday.
On behalf of the people and the government of Bangladesh, the Prime Minister conveyed sympathies and deep condolences to the Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and to the bereaved families at this tragic accident.
The Prime Minister also prayed to the Almighty to give them the strength to withstand the immeasurable losses to their families, according to a Foreign Ministry media release.
Bangladesh, in the spirit of the centuries-old traditional friendship between these two brotherly peoples, would remain ready to stand by the people of Turkey at this difficult hour with any assistance they might need, the release said, according to UNB.
