PM off to NY to attend UNGA

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Dhaka for New York Sunday night to attend the 69th UN General Assembly (UNGA) which Bangladesh considers as an opportunity to embolden its image at the global stage. An Emirates flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9.45 pm. Ministers, Advisers to the Prime Minister, State Ministers and high civil and military officials saw the Prime Minister off at the airport. The Prime Minister is scheduled to deliver her speech on September 27 at the UNGA on behalf of Bangladesh in Bangla as usual and will have a meeting with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. On September 23, she will attend the opening ceremony of the Climate Conference at UN Headquarters (UN HQ) , according to a news agency
