Launching the taxicab project of Trust Transport Service under the Army Welfare Trust at Army Golf Club on Tuesday, the Prime Minister directed the authorities concerned to fix the fare of the taxicab for the first two kilometres at Tk 85 instead of Tk 100. “The people would start using this type of taxicab if they hear that the fare has been lowered. On the other hand, the companies concerned won’t incur losses if the fare is reduced by Tk 10/15,” she said. “It would be better for all if the fare of first 2-km is fixed at Tk 85 instead of Tk 100,” she said and observed that the people are ready to spend extra money in the interest of safe and comfortable journey.
