PM opens DC conference Tuesday

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasna is scheduled to open a 3-day conference of Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in Dhaka on Tuesday. Cabinet Secretary Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said the DCs will call on President Abdul Hamid after their meeting with the Prime Minister the same day. The working sessions of the conference will be held at Bangladesh Secretariat, he said. The DCs will discuss development works of the government and law and order situation in their areas with ministers and secretaries of 39 ministries in 20 working sessions during the three-day conference. The DCs have already sent their recommendations and the progress reports on their suggestions made last year, Mosharraf Hossain said. Cabinet Division additional secretary Nazrul Islam said 92 per cent of the recommendations made during the last conference have been implemented by the ministries, according to UNB.
