PM opens int\\\'l standard cricket stadium in Cox\\\'s Bazar Feb 23

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will open a newly-constructed international standard cricket stadium in Cox’s Bazar town on Sunday (February 23). Named after Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman assassinated along with the founder of Bangladesh and most of the members his family on August 15, 1975, the world class cricket venue will be called Sheikh Kamal International Stadium. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon visited the stadium on Tuesday to see for himself the preparation to welcome the Prime Minister at the venue during her Cox’s Bazar visit on Sunday. The capacity of the stadium which is built on 25 acres of land adjacent to Cox’s Bazar Parjatan Golf Course will be around one hundred thousand (100,000), according to a news agency.
