PM opens Mawna flyover today

GAZIPUR:  The public sufferings at Mawna point on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway are going to be over as the newly-constructed Mawna Flyover opens to traffic today (Saturday). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to open the much-awaited 450-metre flyover at 4.20 pm by unveiling its plaque. She will later join a civic rally there. Meanwhile, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader told reporters here on Friday that Bangladesh Army finished the work on the flyover three months before the stipulated time. The work of the flyover with 450-metre approach road was completed in about two years at a cost of Tk 700 million. It is situated at Mawna Chowrasta under Sreepur upazila, 60 kilometres off the capital.    — BSS
