PM opens modern CG base in Patuakhali

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated the country’s 1st-ever coast guard training base. She also inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 13 other development projects in Patuakhali district on Thursday. At the beginning of her daylong visit to the coastal district, the PM opened coast guard training base, ‘CG Base Agrajatra’. Built at a cost of Tk 435.62 million (Tk 43,56,28,000), the base, comprising 19 buildings equipped with latest equipment and other most modern facilities, is the largest coast guard training facilities in the sub-continent. Besides, she inaugurated the infrastructural development of Patuakhali Pourasava under UGIIP-2 project, Uttar Karkhana Govt Primary School-cum-cyclone shelter at Baufol, RCC Girder Bridge on Khaprabhanga UP-Dabluganj Hat Road at Kalapara in Patuakhali, Chhotto Charkajal Govt Primary School-cum-cyclone shelter at Galachipa, Kochabunia Government Primary School-cum cyclone shelter at Patuakhali Sadar. The PM also laid the foundation stones of Ansar & VDP Battalion Headquarters at Kalapara, construction work of a hostel (dormitory) for government Shishu Paribar (girls), construction of a policewomen barrack building at Patuakhali Police Lines, construction of Gahinkhali Bazar-cum-cyclone shelter and connecting road at Rangabali in Patuakhali, construction of Sabupura 10-bed women and children welfare center at Baufol, construction of 2-storey building with 6-storey foundation at Patuakhali Sadar Police Station and construction of fire service and civil defence station at Dashmina, according to a news agency.
