PM seeks Uzbek investment in agri sector

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday invited Uzbek entrepreneurs to set up agri-equipment and transport manufacturing industries in Bangladesh, assuring them of her government’s all-out support. The Prime Minister said this when visiting Uzbek Minister for Foreign Economic Relations and Trade & Investment Elyor Majidovic Ganiev paid a courtesy call on her at her office. After the meeting, PM’s deputy press secretary Bijal Lal Dev briefed reporters. The Prime Minister said Bangladesh agriculture sector is developing fast as it has started mechanizing while the demand for agricultural equipment is growing gradually in the country. She suggested the Uzbek Minister to persuade their entrepreneurs to manufacture agricultural equipment and vehicles in Bangladesh to avail themselves of the scope of marketing those locally and exporting to other countries, according to UNB.
