PM shocked at Prof Zillur Rahman\\\'s demise

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday expressed deep shock at the death of Professor Zillur Rahman Siddiqui. In a condolence message, the Prime Minister said Zillur Rahman Siddiqui, former vice chancellor of Jahangirnagar University, worked till his death for building a knowledge-based and progressive society. ‘The vacuum that has been created in the field of education due to his demise is never to be filled,’ she said. Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members. Professor Siddiqui died in his Banani residence last night at the age of 86, according to an official release.
