PM shocked at Sardar Amjad Hossain\\\'s demise

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep shock at the death of senior politician Sardar Amzad Hossain. In a message of condolence issued today, the Prime Minister said the nation has lost a devoted and experienced politician at his demise. Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family members. Former minister Amjad Hossain died of heart ailment at Apollo Hospitals at Basundhara in Dhaka hospital on Friday afternoon at the age of 75. He breathed his last at 3:00pm at the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the private hospital, his son Saniat Hossain said. Amjad was admitted to the hospital after he suffered a heart attack at his Gulshan residence on Tuesday. Amjad was also the presidium member of the Jatiya Party. On June 1, 2005, he returned to Awami League, according to a news agency.
