BNP spokesman Mirza Fakhrul Islam Sunday alleged that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is spreading lies abroad as she accused BNP of taking a position against the country’s people.
“The Prime Minister has said in New York that BNP and Jamaat have taken a position against the country’s people by indulging in violence and terrorism. It’s nothing but a complete lie,” he said, according to a news agency.
Addressing a discussion, Fakhrul claimed that BNP is not a terrorist party and it des not believe in terrorism and violence.
Zia Sangskritik Sangathan (Zisas) organised the programme marking its 22 founding anniversary.
About his party’s stance on militancy and terrorism, Fakhrul said, “We want to unequivocally say that BNP is a liberal democratic party. We don’t believe in militancy and terrorism. Awami league is behind violence and terror acts in the country. They don’t want to allow democratic practice.”
