PM to be accorded reception in London Sunday

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who arrived in London on Friday night on a 6-day personal visit, will be accorded a reception in the British capital by the Bangladeshi diaspora in the United Kingdom on Sunday. "Prime minister Sheikh Hasina would be accorded the reception for her outstanding achievements in different fields, particularly the implementation of the much-awaited Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) with India," PM's Media Advisor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury told BSS. The UK chapter Awami League would organise the reception at the Park Lane Hotel in the Piccadilly Area of London at 3:00pm. Newly-elected three Bangladesh-origin British parliament members Tulip Rezwana Siddique, Rushnara Ali and Dr Rupa Haque are also expected to join the reception. Meanwhile, Awami League leaders led by President of All European AL Anil Das Gupta called on PM Hasina at her hotel suite here on Saturday afternoon (local time), PM's Press Secretary AKM Shameem Chowdhuri said. During the meeting the AL leaders informed the prime minister of Sunday's reception to be accorded to her by the Bangladeshi diaspora in the UK. President of the Advisory Council of UK Awami League Alhaj Shamsuddin Khan, Joint General Secretary Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury, Jalal Uddin, Misbahur Rahman, Kawsar Chowdhury and Fakhrul Islam Madhu were present, among others, according to BSS.
