PM to brief media Saturday on her China tour

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will brief the media on Saturday on the outcome of her six-day China visit. State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam said this at a press conference at the Foreign Ministry on Thursday. The press conference will be held at Prime Minister’s official residence Ganobhaban. The Prime Minister returned home on Wednesday afternoon from Beijing wrapping up her visit which the Foreign Ministry described successful as it created new avenues of economic cooperation between the two countries and strengthen the relations further. During the visit, Bangladesh and China signed five deals, including one for building a large power plant in Patuakhali with Chinese assistance. During official talks with Chinese premier Li Keqiang in Beijing also on Monday, Hasina sought support for five other mega infrastructure projects, and Keqiang assured her of taking necessary steps, according to UNB.
