PM to inaugurate new steamer service today

A new passenger steamer, MV Bangalee, will be commissioned on Dhaka-Barisal route via Chandpur today (Saturday). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will launch the new steamer service at Sadarghat in Dhaka. Besides, another steamer, MV Madhumoti, is under construction and it will be introduced on Dhaka-Barisal river route in June. Both the steamers are 75.50 metres long and 12.50 metres wide. Each of the steamers has the capacity of carrying 750 passengers. — BSS
