PM to open Trust taxicab service Tuesday

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the taxicab service of Trust Transport Services here on Tuesday, aiming to break the long spell of quality public transport crisis. The inauguration ceremony will be held at Army Golf Club. The Trust Transport Services under the Army Welfare Trust will initially operate 30 cabs. The taxicabs of 1500 cc to 2000 cc will be Premio, Allion, Probox and Axio models of Japan’s Toyota automobile manufacturer. Another private organization, Toma Group, will also operate the same kind of 17 air-conditioned taxicabs preliminarily. The taxicabs will have GPS system, vehicle tracking system, wireless etc., in order to track and trace all vehicles of this type anywhere in the country, according to UNB.
