Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is likely to visit Japan and China in the last week of the current month and early June respectively. Her three-day visit to Japan is expected to begin on May 25 while the China tour after the first budget of the present government is placed in parliament, diplomatic sources said. Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida, who had been in Dhaka in March last, handed over an invitation letter of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to Prime Minister Hasina to visit Japan. Meanwhile, on March 30, Yunnan Province Governor of China Li Jiheng handed over an invitation letter of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang to the Prime Minister to join the China-South Asia Expo to be held in Kunming in the first week of June. Officials in Dhaka, Tokyo and Beijing are working to finalise the two visits and dates are yet to be finalised, said an official, according to a news agency.
