Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Monday urged the business community not to charge excessive prices for essential commodities during the holy month of Ramadan, reports UNB.
The Prime Minister (PM) made the appeal while presiding over the weekly Cabinet meeting at the Secretariat in the morning.
After the meeting, PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad briefed journalists about its outcome.
The PM asked the people of the country to switch off their air conditioners (ACs) for one hour everyday and not to take it below 24 degrees Celsius to save electricity.
She also asked the ministries concerned to encourage people to use energy-saving bulbs, the PM's press secretary told reporters.
The PM also suggested that government officials wear casual dresses like shirt and pant from March to November, as it would help reduce the use of ACs.
