PM urges N Korea to import BD goods

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday urged North Korea to import world-class Bangladeshi products such as pharmaceuticals, ceramics and readymade garments.
She made the request when newly appointed North Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Ri Song Hyon met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her office in Dhaka, according to a news agency.
PM’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad briefed reporters after the meeting.
During the meeting, he said, the Prime Minister laid emphasis on increasing bilateral trade between the two countries.
Sheikh Hasina also underscored the need for diversifying bilateral cooperation with the DPRK to use the expertise of the country in agriculture, mining and water resource management in Bangladesh.
The Prime Minister also thanked North Korea for greeting her after the formation of her new government for the third time.
Ambassador at-Large M Ziauddin, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Shaikh Wahid Uz Zaman, PMO Secretary Md Abul Kalam Azad and Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad were present.
