PM visits Padma Bridge site Oct 13 to see progress

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will visit the Padma Bridge site on October 13 to see progress of the construction work and inaugurate the railway link, the permanent riverbank protection and four innovation projects, reports BSS.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader revealed the information to the reporters after a preparatory meeting at Banani Setu Kartripakkha Bhaban in the city on Tuesday afternoon.
He said the time of the completion of the Padma Bridge construction will be known in the last week of the current month.
Quader, also the general secretary of Awami League, said 59 per cent of the overall work of the Padma Bridge project has already been completed while 70 per cent of the main bridge has been finished.
He said, "We should show respect to our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her courageous lone decision which has made the bridge visible despite the World Bank's withdrawal from the bridge project…Sheikh Hasina has proved that she is a brave daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman."
Railways Minister Mohammad Mujibul Haque was present in the press briefing.
