PMO okays mobile number portability

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has endorsed guidelines on retaining mobile-phone number after switching operator. Minister of State for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim has said that the Prime Minister’s Office has greenlighted guidelines on mobile number portability (MNP) that allows a subscriber to switch from one operator to another without having to change existing number. “The PMO has given the approval for starting the MNP facility,” the state minister said on Monday. She said that the users will be getting the facility at the start of next year, according to bdnews24.com.
