PM\\\'s participation in UNGA creates scope to consolidate BD\\\'s image abroad

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali Tuesday said the country's highest level participation in the 69th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has created an opportunity in consolidating Bangladesh's representation in global arena, according to a news agency.
"In all considerations, Bangladesh's participation under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to the 69th UNGA has created scope to consolidate the country's image abroad and highlight the government's multifaceted successes in national and international arena," he added.
Briefing newsmen at his ministry, Ali said apart from joining the UNGA, the Prime Minister held bilateral talks with the heads of government and state of different UN member states and chiefs of various international organisations including the United Nations and the Commonwealth on the sideline of the general assembly.
The meetings, she held with the world leaders included Prime Ministers of India, Norway, Belarus and Nepal and Secretary Generals of the UN and the Commonwealth as well.
When asked, he said the meeting between Bangladesh's premier Sheikh Hasina and her Indian Counterpart Narendra Modi was held in a "very warm, relaxed and open environment" when the two leaders spoke on different bilateral issues including the Land Boundary Agreement (LBA) and Teesta Water Sharing Treaty.
