PM\\\'s UAE tour failed to remove obstacles towards reopening labour market: Ershad

Wednesday, 29 October 2014

Terming Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s UAE tour unsuccessful, Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad has said that the PM’s three-day official visit could not help remove the obstacles towards reopening the Gulf country’s labour market for Bangladeshis. ‘The Prime Minister’s tour to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has not been fruitful as it failed to yield desired results. The outcomes of the tour are not as good as expected. We would have been happy had the achievements been better,’ he said. ‘Though she (PM) had been there with a good will, it couldn’t be materialised,’ Ershad, also the special envoy to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, observed while talking to reporters after attending a conference of Jatiya Ulema Party in the city on Tuesday afternoon. Sheikh Hasina returned home on Monday night wrapping up her 72-hour official tour of the oil-rich Middle Eastern country, according to a news agency.
