PM’s financial help for physically-challenged cricketers

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina Wednesday handed over a cheque for Tk 10 million (1 crore) to Bangladesh Cricket Association for the Physically-Challenged for the development of the physically-challenged cricketers, reports UNB.
President of the Association Prof Dr Shaikh Abdus Salam received the cheque from the Prime Minister at her office.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports Jahid Ahsan Russel was present on the occasion.
On July 16, the Prime Minister announced a financial assistance of Tk 10 million for the physically-challenged cricketers when the officials and players of Bangladesh Cricket Association for the Physically-Challenged met the Prime Minister at her office.
Country's physically-challenged cricketers recently won the T-20 series in India. The Prime Minister then handed over cheques of Tk 0.1 million to each player and official of the team.
Bangladesh Cricket Association for the Physically-Challenged won the three match T-20 series against India by 2-1. The series was held in Gwalior, Ferozabad and Agra on June 22-27.
