Fragrance of independence
Sifat Siddiquei

In the decoy that designed a column with blood,
Lies the vanity of victor infinite-
Battered and bruised hands forever uphold,
A legend that unshealths demolishments provoked.

Shrills of cry reached so high,
That divinity creased when witnessed the bliss,
In the eyes of immortals deprived of life-
Carrying the essence of soil in a smile;
O Ma amar, Joi shudhu tor Banglar!!!

Golden sun, dance with pride
Stormy wind, walk astride;
Flowers bloom only to groom
Today is the day of our decorum!

My heart goes numb for brothers once shunt;
For thy sacrifice we fly up the sky;
Dormant memories now scream with relish
Come what may-
Wrecked for thy stay
I will love you Ma till my dying day!
Joi Matribhumi!!!

Celebrating pain
Atika Chowdhury Cherry

Life is a celebration of pain
In every morning Pain comes through my window
To see the dry sign of my red tears.
He smiles when my room's air tells
How my blue tears become red
And within short days it will turn into violet.

No wine can make it ease except the rain drops
Ooze after touching my love's eyelids
And after drinking the dropping drug
I forget about the pain for some moments.
Again the night comes to suck the drug
And makes ready my eyes for bleeding blood.

O Pain! I will marry you
Write your name on my every pore.
And for God's sake makes my self your symbol
I will be happy by losing me replacing you.
