Police arrests KCC ward commissioner

KHULNA, Nov 15 (UNB): A ward commissioner of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) was arrested by the police from his Charerhat residence in the city Wednesday night in an extortion case.
The police said they arrested Mosaddek Hossain Babul, commissioner of ward no.13 at about 11 pm and recovered a pipe gun, four rounds of bullet and some bottles of phensedyl syrup from his residence.
Brick trader Faruk Wednesday morning filed the extortion case with Khalishpur police against Babul, also a BNP leader, for demanding Tk 0.1 million (1.0 lakh) as toll from him.
