Bangladesh Police defeated Glorious Sporting Club by 25/4, 25/18 points in the men's group opening match of the Walton Home Appliances 1st National Throwball Championship at the Bangladesh Kabaddi Stadium in the city Friday, reports UNB.
In the other men's group opening day's match, Throwball Academy Khulna outplayed Narail Firoz Smriti Sangsad by 25/13, 25/19 and 15/10 points.
Meanwhile, in the women's group matches, Throwball Academy Khulna beat South Point School & College by 25/7, 25/10 points while Magura Throwball Samity defeated Throwball Academy Bagerhat by 25/13, 15/8 and 21/15 points.
However, in their second match, Throwball Academy Bagerhat won against South Point School & College by 25/10, 25/10 points.
Earlier, first senior additional director of Walton and Bangladesh Throwball Association president FM Iqbal Bin Anwar inaugurated the first edition of the national Throwball meet as the chief guest.
Thirteen teams-nine men's and four women's-are taking part in the meet
