Police brutality against a journalist

I was deeply perturbed at the brutality of the members of the law-enforcement agencies against journalist Mizanur Rahman, who is stationed at Baufal upazila in Patuakhali disttrict. It is shocking that instead of penalising the guilty members of law-enforcement agencies, the victim is being further traumatised by framing him in various cases. If a working journalist of a well-known newspaper can be subject to police brutality, as has happened in the case of Mizan, chances of similar treatment in case of others can not be ruled out. I think, Mizan's case should be properly investigated into and appropriate punishment should be meted out to the offenders. If proper action is not taken against the guilty people it will erode further the trust of the common people in law enforcing agencies and tarnish the image of the government. I hope, Mizaur Rahman will be freed soon and all false cases against him will be withdrawn.
