Police constable drowns in Pabna

PABNA, July 29 (UNB): A police constable drowned in a pond on the Faridpur Police Station complex in the district on Tuesday evening.
The deceased was identified as Yasin Ali (48), son of Afzal Hossain, a resident of Shahajadpur upazila of Sirajganj district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Faridpur Police Station Saiful Islam said Yasin went down into the pond to take bath as he was tired after playing football in the evening.
At a stage, he drowned in the pond around 7:30pm.
Later, other police officers rescued Yasin from the pond and took him to the Faridpur Upazila Health Complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Yasin joined the Faridpur Police Station three months back.
