A Dhaka court has granted police 6 days in two cases to interrogate Fatima Begum, wife of Sheikh Rahmatullah alias Sajid, an alleged commander of Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB). The court of Metropolitan Magistrate Md Maruf Hossain on Sunday also sent three other people arrested with Fatima to remand for 10 days each, five days in each case. The other three are – Abdullah Kazi, 30, Md Isharat Ali Sheikh, 32, and Md Shawkat Sardar, 30. Fatima’s husband, Sajid aka Sheikh Rahmatullah aka Burhan Sheikh was arrested in India’s West Bengal state for allegedly leading a terror module there in the aftermath of the Oct 2 Burdwan bomb explosions. He was arrested earlier this month as a prime suspect after Indian investigators found evidence linking Bangladeshi militants to the blast. Sajid is said to be from Farazikanda of Narayanganj’s Bandar Upazila. Fatima, 25, said to be the head of the JMB’s women’s wing, was arrested with three others from Dhaka’s Sadarghat area on Saturday night, according to a news agency.
