Police hunt for 5 BNP leaders on

Police kept watch in the High Court (HC) area Sunday to arrest five BNP leaders in connection with the cocktail blasts inside Chief Justice's residence on November 18, reports UNB.
The police lay in wait presuming that the wanted leaders might go to the High Court to secure anticipatory bails but finally they did not turn up.
On November 18, two Molotov cocktails went off on the compound of Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque's Hare Road house in the city at around 8:30pm.
Though no name was mentioned in the First Information Report (FIR) lodged with Ramna police station in connection with the blasts, informed sources said police is looking for BNP's Human Rights Affairs Secretary Barrister Nasiruddin Asim, Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal President Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal President Habibunnabi Khan Sohel, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal President Sultan Salahuddin Tuku and Akhter Hamid Paban, son of BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwear Hossain.
Several teams of Detective Branch (DB) and Special Branch (SB) and Ramna police station took position at different strategic points outside the High Court to arrest the BNP leaders.
Officer-in-Charge of Ramna police station Shibly Noman admitted that the police lay in wait saying that they were looking for some suspects in connection with the cocktail explosions at the Chief Justice's residence.
