Tuesday, 25 November 2008

The police Monday intercepted a procession of a group of unsuccessful candidates of the controversial 27th BCS examinations in front of Bangladesh Shishu Academy while heading towards the Secretariat, reports UNB.
The protesters demanding their early appointments moved towards the Secretariat in the afternoon to submit a memorandum to Establishment Secretary M Mosleh Uddin.
Facing the police barricade, the protesters sat on the street and staged demonstration there for an hour.
The procession was brought out from the Central Shaheed Minar following the Education Adviser's assurance to create new posts for them.
Adviser Hossain Zillur Rahman gave the assurance at a meeting with DU Vice-chancellor SMA Faiz, university teachers and the unsuccessful candidates at the VC's official residence on November 20.
