'Police must behave well with people'

Senior secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Gani has said that each member of police must behave well with the people.
He urged them to avoid greed, jealousy, criticism of others and blind loyalty and must take creative initiatives to ensure justice to the people.
He urged police members to discharge their duties from the point of religion, humanity and existing laws of the country.
He made the observations at a special briefing titled 'The role of police members considering the prevailing situation' at Bangladesh Police Auditorium in the capital's Rajarbagh area on Friday afternoon.
DMP commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzad Ali said the national election would be held in February next year.
He said the concerned departments started working as per the directives of the Chief Adviser to ensure a free, fair and acceptable election.
He said that police would act professionally and neutrality and would set an example during the upcoming national election.
He said that police department went through a huge damage during student-mass uprising last year and now started getting back on its professionalism track.
He urged police personnel to enhance their level of professionalism and continue rendering their services to the people of the country.
Additional police commissioner (Admin) of DMP Faruk Ahmed and other high police officials were present.
